IN SEARCH OF . . .
THE DIXIE HIGHWAY

This map of Lima is from the 1920 Automobile Blue Book. At this time, there were no railroad underpasses in the business district, and neither were there any one way streets. Thus, the Dixie Highway route would probably have followed Jackson Street, McKibben Street, Main Street, Elm Street, and Metcalf Street from the northeast to southwest sides of town. From 1915 to 1919, the Dixie Highway route would have intersected the Lincoln Highway at the intersection of Main Street and Market Street, in Lima’s Public Square.
